Inside VS Outside
Some revelation when I was in church small group today came as a thought about WHAT/WHO IS IN US & WHAT/WHO IS OUTSIDE US. I will share it here.
When we (or I should say I) experience symptoms in us we unsconsiously have a mental picture that there's sickness (in us) & we ask God (outside us) to heal us.
The truth is *Christ is in us* (Colosians 1:27) - and the devil (outside us) is "throwing/projecting" what he thinks or experiences to us . The attack of the deception is outside us. - the Bible never says "sickness is in us." - in fact the word says that we are a new creation in Christ (2 Cor 5:17).
God's reality (who we are in Christ) must be dearer to us (in us) rather than our own feeling/carnal mind (outside us).
When we are defined by the truth of God's words we won't be easily bullied by the carnal mind & feelings.
Sometimes we may feel we are not forgiven, we have a headache due to this thought, but what is the truth? What does the Lord say? Should we come to Him again to ask for forgiveness to make us re-righteous? (Romans 5:19) Or do we believe that Christ is our everlasting righteousness? (2 Corinthians 5:21)
How about healing/health? What does the Bible say about it? Is it by gift? What did the Lord intend for us to have by His sacrifice? (Isaiah 53:4-5).
If surely He has borne our pain & sicknesses, it means the symptoms we feel & experience are not ours, they are outsiders - The same way as how sometimes we feel unforgiven - there's an outside force that works through flesh trying to deceive who we are in Christ. Remember that feeling can be influenced by the spirit (inside) or by the flesh (outside).
Jesus is not outside you to heal you, He has become your life, your health, your healing in the very core of you (as well as your righteousness - 2 Corinthians 5:21).
When we know Who (and all His virtues) is in us & who/what is outside us trying to deceive, we could resist it (instead of taking it in as part of our life), we can appropriate what the Lord has done for us, we don't fight to get the victory, we are already in the victory ground & we cannot loose (1 John 4:4) - we fight the good fight of faith.
We are in the new covenant reality. If a bleeding woman touched the Lord's garment healed (Luke 8:43-48) under the old covenant, how much more now for us, under the new covenant He lives in us.
It's not "as the bleeding woman healed so are we in this world", but "as Jesus is so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17). Who are we identity ourselves with in this new covenant reality?
Regardless of what happens "outside" you, who/what do you have? Which one is part of your life, Jesus or pain/challenges?
Jesus is awesome
